CHAPIN SOFTWARE / PIC

Updating PIC

Install over the existing application, preserve its data and check the release identity afterwards.

UPDATE IN PLACE

Keep the existing PIC installation.

  1. Check the intended release

Sebring RC1 is the current candidate; Monza remains an earlier beta. Keep a separate backup of important personal files.

  2. Install over the app

Transfer the intended APK to the HU and open it in Android’s installer. Do not uninstall PIC, clear its storage or factory reset before a normal update.

  3. Verify the result

Open PIC Settings > About and check version, codename and build. Incomplete setup may reopen the wizard; otherwise your existing setup is retained where available.

  4. Check integrations

Rescan the head unit after relevant provider or integration changes. Check native apps and PIC before changing assignments or resetting data.

PREVIOUS RELEASES

Choosing Monza is still possible.

You can select and download Monza separately. Android may reject installing an older build over a newer version. Download availability does not promise an in-place downgrade or data compatibility with a newer installation.

If Android rejects an install, record the exact message. Do not uninstall PIC as a first troubleshooting step: uninstalling can remove its data.
